End to end - sameday - 2011
We completed the trip the same day. We had planned to do a blog on the journey but after battling for over an hour on the first stop to get everything working properly despite having it all working prior to the trip we decided on binning the blog on route and just to get on with it
There are not as many photos as we'd hoped for since it was raining heavily for the most part and cameras, rain and dripping bikers doesn't go well.
6:20am at Lands End, Sennen, Cornwall on 16th July

First stop 9am to 10:30am. Running a bit late. We've been lucky with the weather, only had 6 inches of rain since cornwall.
We've refueled the bikes and now having breakfast at McDonalds, next to Asda, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol.Heading off in the direction of manchester shortly

At Manchester 1pm. Bikes refilled. Time for a coffee and then back on the road

M74 Gretna services 4pm. This stop was going to be missed but after a decent dry spell and the sky looking like it was about to empty all over us again we decided on stopping for food while dry rather than go on for another 100 miles and stop while soaked wet through. As it turns out it was a good move, The rain came down 10 mins after we arrived and the car park turned into a river for a while.

We missed a stop on purpose to try to save some time but had to make slight detour to a Torq fuel station at Perth Road, The Cairngorms National Park, Newtonmore, Highland to refill at 7:30pm

John O'Groats arrival time 11:20pm on 16th July 2011.
The last 100 miles gave us the worst weather, the last 60 were really bad. Winds, heavy rain, fog and narrow windy roads didn't make it much fun.
Since we were all but drowned on arrival at JOG, it was pitch black, rain coming in sideways at with a serious need for a warm drink and some dry clothes we checked in on google latitude and facebook and made our way to the hotel.
The morning after brought us some sunshine on our return to John O'Groats and having our photo taken at the famous signpost on the harbour side

The trip home
The 3 of us stayed in John O'Groats, having a coffee and toffee muffin courtesy of Chris at Northampton Motorcycle Couriers.
Photos done, gifts bought and postcards sent and we're on our way back south
